Jesse Leavenworth was born on 22 November 1740, in Waterbury, CT. He married Katherine Conkling, daughter of John Conkling and Katherine Schellinger, on Wednesday, 1 July 1761 in Waterbury, CT. Jesse lived in Waterbury, CT. He married Eunice Sperry circa 1783 in New Haven, CT.1 In 1783 Jesse moved to Danville, VT, He was a member of the Vermont Legislature 1789, 1791, 1792, 1798. He graduated from Yale College in New Haven, CT, in 1784.2 In his old age Jesse became very infirm. He was at Sacketts Harbor, NY, in 1823, decrepid and unable to travel. (Sackett's Harbor is on Lake Conesus, a finger lake, south of Rochester NY.2 He died on 12 December 1824 in Sackett's Harbor, NY, at age 84.2
