John F Porter was born on 27 April 1828, in PA.1 Father: Uel C Porter (b 15 Dec 1805) - Mother: Elizabeth Ann Furman (b 1807).1 He married Juliette Maria Fanning, daughter of William Jayne Fanning and Abigail Brown, say 1853.1,2 John F Porter was in the military Civil USA Sgt (Pvt) Co C, 7th Cavalry, Penna Volunteers 1.1 He died on 6 October 1894 at age 66.1
