She appeared on the 1860 US Federal Census of Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia, in the household of her parents Curtis Lewis and Jane Gardner Collier.1 Mary Jane Lewis married Joseph Palmer say 1861.2,3 Mary Jane Lewis died on 8 April 1881 in Houston County, Texas, at age 39.
