     Edmund Hobart was born circa 1574, in Hingham, Norfolk, England. He married Margaret Dewey circa 1597 in Hingham, Norfolk County, England. Edmund immigrated in March 1633 to Charlestown, MA, In March 1633 when Edmund was nearly sixty he sailed for America with his wife, 3 children and a servant. They landed in Charlestown. Soon after Edmund and Thomas and their wives and Thomas' 3 children arrived. He immigrated on the ship "Elizabeth Bonaventure", John Graves, master, with his wife, daughters Rebecca and Sarah, and son Joshua. Also listed was Nazareth, Edmond and Thomas. on 15 June 1633.1 Edmund was admitted freeman on 4 March 1634 and soon after became constable. In Sep 1635 he his family and sons families moved to "a new place" 12 miles south of Boston and called it Hingham. Edmund was on the grand jury, a commissioner to try small causes (forerunner of justice of the peace). He was elected representative to the General Court 1639-1642. He died on 23 June 1649 in Hingham, MA.
