John Tomes was born say 1506.2 John married an unknown woman who was mother of his children Robert, Alice, Joan and Alice (?). She was buried in Long Marsten, Gloucestershire, England).1 26 August 1536 he received a lease of lands called Nolland, etc in the manor of Long Marsten.1 He was present at a court of the manor held 28 Jan 1540.1 He married Mrs Alice (Unknown) Tomes say 1542.1,2 John Tomes left a will dated 20 March 1548. His will mentions his son Robert, his daughters Alice, Joan, Alice and Joan (??).1 The will of John was proved 19 May 1548 in Gloucestershire, England.1
