***Research Conclusion The Great Migration states that it has not been proven that Francis Peabody (# 1208) was the son of John Peabody (#1219). Savage suggests it, but no one has proof.1
***Research Conclusion I've decided Mrs Lydia (Unknown) Peabody is the mother of John, not Mary Foster. Francis Peabody was born in 1614, in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England. He married Mrs Lydia (Unknown) Peabody say 1634.2,3 Francis Peabody immigrated on the ship He (and others from the same district) were to be transported to America in the Planter, Nicholas Trarice, master. First resided at Ipswich. . in 1635 to Ipswich, MA. His wife Lydia died on 3 March 1648 in Hampton, MA, leaving him a widower.4 Francis Peabody married Mary Foster say 1649.3 When Hampton was made a part of New Hampshire, and "being minded to live nearer Boston" in 1650 he sold his house and 55 acres of land. Moved to Topsfield 1651, became a large landowner in Topsfield, Boxford, Rowley. Francis Peabody died in 1697/98.
