     John Allen Collier was born on 13 November 1787, in Litchfield, CT.1 He graduated from Yale College in New Haven, CT, say 1808.2 1809 in Troy, NY, he was admitted to the bar in Troy, NY.2 He married Barbara Doty in July 1810.3 John Allen Collier married Lydia Ann Sheppard say 1812.4,1 His wife Lydia died on 2 October 1829 leaving him a widower. John Allen Collier married Elizabeth Morris on Wednesday, 20 August 1834.1,5 John and Elizabeth had one child.5 John Allen Collier died on 24 March 1873 in Binghamton, NY, at age 85.1
