On 22 August 1485, he had charge of the left wing at the battle of Bosworth Field, and after the battle placed the Crown on the head of Henry Tudor, the new King Henry VII. On 16 November 1488 he became a Knight of the Garter. On 18 October 1492 he was slain at the siege of Boulogne in France. As was recorded in 'The Earlier Tudors' by J. D.
