George Black was born circa 1802, in MA.2 He married Polly Sargent, daughter of Asa Sargent and Polly Ball, on Wednesday, 26 March 1828 in Oxford, MA.1,3 George Black was a laborer.4 He was a fireman. I assume it means a fireman within a factory - probably a mill, as there were many families in the neighborhood who were weavers and spinners.2
