     Joseph Kingsbury was born on 17 April 1753, probably in Coventry, CT.1 He was in the military in the Revolutionary War. Soon after it began he enlisted in a company of which Joseph Talcott was Captain, Joseph Kingsbury Lieutenant, and Squire Ephraim Kingsbury was Commissary. The company was stationed for a time at Groton, CT; from there they were ordered to the States of New York and New Jersey and were often employed as scouts.2 He married Lois Porter on Monday, 21 February 1780.3 Joseph Kingsbury married Sarah Wood on Monday, 18 March 1816.2 Joseph Kingsbury died on 13 April 1828 at age 74.1
