Eleanor Greene1

     Eleanor Greene was born in 1900.1 She married Earle Wheaton Sargent, son of William Parker Sargent and Alice Wheaton, say 1930.1 Earle and Eleanor established the Sargent Foundation, an organization that contributed greatly to community needs and student scholarships. Mr. and Mrs. Sargent desired to help others and sought to “make Greenville a better community.” The Sargent Art Building at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, was build in 1998 and named in honor of Earle and Eleanor Sargent, local industrialists and philantropists who were generous benefactors to the university. (Bob Jones University is a fundamental Christian university, training leaders by building up their faith and understanding of God’s Word, and by teaching them how to live the truth in every area of life. It is known as the citadel of biblical Christianity for its adherence to the Bible as mankind’s only source of faith and Christian practice...from their website 2011).2 Eleanor Greene died in 1990.1
