     Frederick John Kingsbury was born on 1 January 1823, in Waterbury, CT. He graduated from Yale College in New Haven, CT, in 1846. He graduated from Yale Law School say 1849. He married Alathea Ruth Scovill, daughter of William Henry Scovill and Eunice Ruth Davies, on Tuesday, 29 April 1851 in Waterbury, CT.1 Frederick lived in Waterbury, CT. He was the President of Scoville Mfg Company in Waterbury, CT.2 He wrote the Kingsbury Genealogy with Mary Kingsbury Talcott. When he was 80 his advice to young men who wished to succeed: "Be honest in your purpose. Practice truthfulness, courtesy and the cultivation of a kindly feeling toward all men. Be industrious and persevering. Neither court nor shun responsibilities, but discharge all obligations to the best of your ability. Do the most honorable thing that offers, and keep it until something better comes. Beware of procrastination." From 1881-1899 he was a member of the Yale Corporation. He died on 30 September 1910 at age 87.
