     James Clark was born in 1610, in London, England.1 He immigrated on the ship Hector and arrived on 26 June 1637 to Boston, MA.2 James was a 'free planter' in New Haven by 4 Jun 1639. Before 1669 he may have gone to Stratford, where records of his son appear ca 1662. He had 4 in his family in New Haven in 1643 and an estate of 50 £. 'At one time James Clark was brought to court for absence on Training Day, but by plea of his wife's illness he was allowed to go without fine. However, at another time he was fined 12 pounds for lateness and absence. He married Sarah Harvey say 1641 in New Haven, CT.3 As of 1642 James lived in New Haven, CT. He married Mrs Anna Wakefield on Monday, 17 October 1661 in New Haven, CT. James Clark died on 19 December 1674 in Stratford, CT.4
