Sylvanus Clark was born on 1 February 1691/92, in Wallingford, CT. He married Damaris Hitchcock, daughter of John Hitchcock and Abigail Merriman, on Thursday, 22 April 1717 in Wallingford, CT. His wife Damaris died on 10 November 1731 in Cheshire, CT, at age 38 leaving him a widower. Sylvanus Clark married Abiah Lines in 1741.1
