     Edwin Bates Vaupel was born on 9 September 1888, in Livingston, Montana.1,2 He was a soldier in the Recruit Depot, US Army in West Sheridan, Colorado.3 He married Lula E Doane on Saturday, 30 October 1915 in Washington, DC.4,5 Edwin lived in Washington DC at this time, and had been working for the army for 2 years as a Private in the Cavalry. He was discharged for disability.2 Edwin Bates Vaupel was employed by Chulia Signal Depot in 1942 in Philadelphia, PA.4 As of April 1942 Edwin lived in Lackawanna, PA, at 145 East Essex Ave.4 He died in March 1966 in Zephryrhills, Florida, at age 77.6
