Joseph Hawley was born circa 1603, in Parwich, Derbyshire, England. Joseph immigrated in 1632 Joseph came to America in 1632 with his brothers. He married Catherine Birdsey, daughter of Edward Birdsey and Abigail Dayton, circa 1646 in Wethersfield, CT.1 Joseph Hawley left a will dated 17 September 1689. Calls himself yoeman, sometime Justice of the Peace. Inventory taken 4 Jun 1690. Had land also in Woodbury, CT. He died on 20 May 1690 in Stratford, CT.
