     Edward Mitchell Townsend Jr. was born on 13 February 1893, in New York City, NY.2,3 He graduated from St Paul's School in Concord, NH, in 1912.3 He was employed by E M Townsend & Co, Commission Merchants in 1916 in NY as assistant to the credit manager.3 He graduated from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, in 1916 with a A. B. degree.3 He married Katharine Lynch Doty on Saturday, 28 April 1917 in Waltham, MA.4,3 Edward Mitchell Townsend Jr. died in June 1964 at age 71.5
