     Richard Baldwin was baptized on 25 August 1622 in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, England. 1639 - allowed to be a Free Planter in Milford. In 1641 he joined the church. In 1646 his homestead was on the west side of the Wopewaug River. He was a man of intelligence and good business ability. 10 Jun 1655 he was chosen along with others to treat with the Indians concerning land agreements. He was a member of the General Court from Milford 1662-1664. He was quite prominent in the settlement of Paugusset (Derby). He married Elizabeth Alsop say 1642.1 Richard Baldwin was an attorney. Richard frequently came before the General Court in New Haven and his arguments are so characteristic of the manner of his day that it seems probable he received some special training perhaps in the office of a London attorney. Richard lived in Milford, CT. He died on 20 July 1665 at age 42.
