     James Scovill was born on 27 January 1732/33, in Waterbury, CT.1 He graduated from Yale College in New Haven, CT, in 1757. He was a minister. He married Amy Nichols, daughter of George Nichols and Susanna Hickox, on Sunday, 7 November 1762.1 James lived in Waterbury, CT. Soon after the war James, Amy, their family and much of the congregation moved to St. John New Brunswick. He died on 19 December 1808 in Kingston, New Brunswick, Canada, at age 75.
