William Scovill was born on 7 September 1703, in Waterbury, CT.1 He married Hannah Richards, daughter of John Richards and Mary Welton, on Sunday, 17 April 1729.2 William was a congregationalist, but later converted because of his wife to Episcopalian. His wife Hannah died on 1 April 1741 in Westbury, CT, at age 38 leaving him a widower.2 William Scovill married Elizabeth Brown on Saturday, 16 June 1742 in Stratford, CT.2 He was commissioned lieutenant of Waterbury Militia in May 1746. William Scovill married Desire Sanford, daughter of John Sanford and Hannah Beach, say 1748.3 William Scovill died on 5 March 1755 in Waterbury, CT, at age 51.2
