Matthew Seymour was born in May 1669. He married Sarah Hayes, daughter of Samuel Hayes and Sarah Moore, say 1690.1 Matthew lived in Norwalk, CT. Matthew Seymour was called Captain as of October 1729.2 Colonial Records of Conn VII - 250 "This assembly do establish and confirm Mr. Matthew Seymour of Norwalk to be captain of the North Company or Trainband in the town of Norwalk aforesaid and order that he be commissioned accordingly." Oct 1729. He left a will. In Fairfield Probate Records dated 4 Jan 1734/35. (Reference to Matthew in town records of Farmington 17 Nov 1737.). He died in 1735 in Fairfield, CT.
