     Edward Rupert Sargent was born on 9 March 1858, in New Britain, CT. He was usually called Ned.1 He graduated from Yale University, Sheffield Scientific School in New Haven, CT, in 1880.2 He married Helen Lawton on Tuesday, 7 June 1887 in New York City, NY.3 1914 he was a Vice-president of the Association of Class Secretaries for Yale University.2 Edward Rupert Sargent died on 20 June 1940 at age 82, and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery in New Haven, CT.4
