Nathaniel Jarvis was born say 1600, in Wales.1 In Jamaica he married the widow of a rich planter, gave up his seafaring life, came to Boston 1668 - some traditions say 1654 - with his wife, settled there, and became a prosperous merchant and influential citizen. Not long after 2 of his brothers came from England and tradition says one of them went to Hartford, CT (may have been Stephen who appeared in Huntington LI in 1661) and the other went to Concord MA. It is believed John Jarvis was his son. He was a sea captain. He commanded a ship for several years between Bristol England and Jamaica.
