Russell Sargent Fenn Jr was born on 11 September 1912, in North Scituate, MA.2,3 Russell was known as Sargent. He went to Choate, a preparatory school. There is a wonderful story about him at Choate. When he went to dinner at school the proctor (teacher) at his table said "Please introduce yourselves. I'm Major Brown". He introduced himself as Sargent Fenn, and was promptly punished for insubordination!4 He married Frances Phipps Barnes on Friday, 16 October 1936 in New Haven, CT. He ran the IGA store in Dorset Vt. Dorset is near Manchester VT.4 Russell Sargent Fenn Jr died in June 1996 in Manchester Center, Vermont, at age 83.2
