     James Cunningham Sargent was born on 26 February 1916, in New Haven, CT.1,2 He graduated from The Taft School in Watertown, CT, in 1935.2 He graduated from University of Virginia in 1940 with a B.A. and a L.L.B. degree.2 He was in the army in 1943 as a Captain in the Army Air Corps.3 He married Rebecca Porteous Jackson on Saturday, 23 January 1943.
