Barbara Lois Male

     Barbara Lois Male was born on 21 August 1920, in Chicopee Falls, MA. She graduated from Larson Junior College in New Haven, CT, in June 1939.¹ She was employed by Dr Arthur Connolly, 59 Trumbull St in September 1940 in New Haven, CT, as a secretary for her first job.¹ She married Richard Collier Sargent Jr, son of Richard Collier Sargent and Ruth Kingsbury, on Saturday, 8 March 1941 in New Haven, CT.¹ In June of 1945 Barbara & Dick moved to Nichols CT.¹ Between 1945 and 1967 Barbara and Richard lived at 2078 Huntington Tpke, Nichols, CT, where they brought up their family of three girls and a later addition of a boy.¹ In 1962 Mom & Dad bought the house in Vermont. They went up weekends - and sometimes summers - until 1969 when they moved up full time.¹ For their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Mom and Dad went on a boat in the Caribbean that they sailed themselves from Martinique to Grenada.¹ Her husband Richard died on 17 April 1985 in Hartland, VT, at age 71 leaving her a widow at age 64. Her daughter Joan died on 2 December 1997 in Hanover, NH, at age 52. Barbara Lois Male died on 3 March 2009 in Windsor, VT, at age 88.¹ An obituary was published in the Valley News and the Vermont Standard.
