- Kurt Reinfeld was born on 12 November 1914, in Vienna, Austria.
- He graduated in 1936 with an Engineering diploma in mechanical engineering.1
- He was employed in 1937 Zentral-Europaeischen-Laenderbank in their Coke and Coal Division as a heating engineer.1
- He married Hedy Dicker, daughter of Nikolaus Dicker and Charlotte Blumenstein, on Sunday, 10 July 1938 in Vienna, Austria.
- Kurt first went to England from Vienna. He went to Lord Kitchener Camp in Sandwich as a mechanical engineer.1
- Kurt and Hedy arrived in New York on the ship "Britannic" which left on the 30th of Dec, 1939 and arrived on the 10th of January 1940. They both indicated they could read English. The closest relative identified was father-in-law, Nicholas Dicker, living at Schulerstrasse 22 (or 21) in Vienna. They had $180 (which was about average of what other immigrants had). Their contact was a cousin, Leo Rosenman, who lived at 61 (or 67) 2nd Street, Huntington Station, NY. After a two week stay they traveled by bus to Pittsburgh.1,2
- In Pittsburgh at first he was a helper in an auto repair shop, and then he worked at the Duquesne Smelting Corporation.1
- Kurt Reinfeld was employed between 1941 and 1983 in Pittsburgh, PA, Koppers as an engineer and created 50 patents.1
- He was retired in 1983 from Koppers.1
- He died on 19 June 2000 in Pittsburgh, PA, at age 85.3
