     Alice Eliza Kingsbury was born on 4 May 1858, in Waterbury, CT. Her brother William died on 2 March 1864 in Waterbury, CT, at age 10. Alice Eliza Kingsbury was educated circa 1865 at Collegiate Institute in Waterbury, CT, This school changed it's name to the Female Seminary, and by the time Alice graduated it was the St Margaret's School For the Girls. She graduated in 1875.1 Alice and Edith had a coachman. When they got a car, they sent the coachman, William, to Detroit, to learn how to drive and take care of cars.2 4 April 1931 Alice traveled from Hamilton, Bermuda, to New York City on the ship Veendam. They traveled with their two sons, Richard and Fred, and Ruth's aunt, Alice Kingsbury.3 She died on 4 April 1937 in Waterbury, CT, at age 78 in the house on Prospect St where she was born.4
