- Ebenezer Kingsbury was born on 11 February 1716/17, in West Farms (Now Franklin), CT.1
- He married Priscilla Kingsbury, daughter of Nathaniel Kingsbury and Hannah Denison, on Friday, 28 March 1738 Ebenezer and Priscilla were first cousins. She is said to have read the Bible through before marrying, to see if there was anything to forbid marryinga cousin.2
- 24 November 1739 Ebenezer was admitted to the Church in Bolton, MA. He was a Deacon in the Church.2
- He was a much valued citizen, a representative to the General Assembly 18 years, a Lieutenant of the Ninth Company or Trainband in the Fifth Regiment of the Colony in May 1753, and Captain, Oct 1756. He was chosen a member of the Committee of Correspondence in Coventry, 15 Sep 1774.2
- The story is told that during a critical period of the Revolution he returned from the session of the General Assembly one Saturday to work for the soldiers. His daughter, Priscilla, moulded bullets from the lead clock weights, and his son, Joseph, made and baked biscuits - both on the Sabbath. Sand bags were substituted for lead in the family clock, and on Monday he returned to his post of duty, his saddle bags balanced on the one side with food for the soldiers, and on the other with bullets to be used against their enemies.3
- Ebenezer Kingsbury died on 6 September 1800 in Coventry, CT, at age 83.
- He was buried at the North Burying-round in Coventry, CT, Sacred to the memory of
