John Root was born on 23 December 1642, in Farmington, CT.1 He married Mary Ashley, daughter of Robert Ashley and Mary Eddy, on Saturday, 18 October 1664 in Springfield, MA.1 John and Mary had six children.1 John Root died on 24 September 1687 in Westfield, MA, at age 44.2
