Lydia Chipman was born on 25 December 1654, in Barnstable, MA. She married John Sargent, son of William Sargent and Mrs Sarah (Unknown) Minshall, say 1674.2 Lydia Chipman died on 2 March 1729/30 at age 75. Lydia Chipman had Mayflower pedigree. Her mother was Hope Howland (1629-1684). Hope was the third child of John Howland (1592-1673) and Elizabeth Tilley (1607-1688). Both John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley arrived in America on the Mayflower. Therefore all eleven of Lydia and John Sargent's childen and their descendants are eligible to join the Mayflower Society.3
