Charlotte Blumenstein was born on 3 September 1888, in Vienna, Austria.1,4,5 She married Nikolaus Dicker, son of Herr Dicker, circa 1915. Charlotte and Nikolaus lived in Hofzeile 16, Vienna, Austria, in the district known as Doebling.6 Charlotte and Nikolaus immigrated on 21 June 1941 on the ship S. S. Mouzinho from Portugal, leaving Lisbon on the 10th of June, 1941 and arriving on the 21st of June in New York City. They then went to Pittsburgh to be with their daughter.1,5 She was happy in America and adjusted well to life in America in spite of the fact that she was in her mid-fifties when she moved there. She lived the rest of her life with her daughter, Hedy, and her family. She was very close with her three grandchildren, who loved her very much. She also traveled often to Europe to see her daughter, Dora, and her family. Lotte was an excellent cook and also had many interests. She amassed an extensive stamp collection (nurtured largely by the correspondences she maintained with her relatives and friends who were dispersed all over the world). She stayed active playing bridge, visiting friends, and going to concerts. She was a voracious reader and traveled often to Europe often to visit Dora.1,7 Charlotte Blumenstein died on 15 August 1978 in Pittsburgh, PA, at age 89 three weeks before her 90th birthday.1 An obituary was published in the The Jewish Cronicle of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh, PA, on 17 August 1978.8 To view the notice, please click here.

Dates using 'say' are educated guesses by me.
If I don't know a female last name she will be identified with a 'Mrs' and her husband's name.
MALE or FEMALE means I don't know the first name.
