     Sophia Sargent was born on 13 August 1785, in Leicester, MA.1 She married Daniel McFarland, son of James McFarland and Betsey Moore, on Thursday, 25 November 1813 in Leicester, MA.1,2 Her husband Daniel died on 31 August 1818 in Leicester, MA, at age 37 leaving her a widow.3 Sophia Sargent married Horace McFarland, son of James McFarland and Betsey Moore, on Saturday, 19 January 1822 in Leicester, MA.1,2 Horace was Daniel's younger brother (by 12 years). Sophia Sargent died on 15 February 1853 at age 67.1
