Thomas Denny was born on 19 March 1724/25, in Leicester, MA. He married Tabitha Cutler on Sunday, 25 June 1752. Thomas lived in Leicester, MA, Thomas lived in Leicester on the farm his father first settled. His wife Tabitha died on 8 August 1753 leaving him a widower. Thomas Denny married Mary Chaplin, daughter of Benjamin Chaplin and Tamison Walden, on Tuesday, 21 October 1755 in Leicester, MA. He was a Selectman 1765-66 and 1769-72; town clerk in 1772. Thomas Denny was in the military He became colonel of the militia. He was a member of the first Provincial Congress which met a Concord 11 Oct 1774. Soon after it began illness forced him to return home, where he died. 'He was regarded by the leading public men in Boston as a wise and patriotic counsellor. " This allows his descendants to claim membership in the DAR.1 He died on 23 October 1774 in Leicester, MA, at age 49.
