     George Whitfield was born circa 1815, in England.1 He married Sarah Frury say 1836.2 George Whitfield was a spindle maker. George Whitfield came to America for a while, but then returned to England. He came here between 1846 & 1848.3 He and Sarah Frury immigrated on the ship Rochester from Liverpool, arriving in New York City. He traveled with his wife Sarah, sons Robert and Samuel, and daughter Sarah. on 11 September 1846.4 George Whitfield was a machinist.1 George and Sarah had five children. George Whitfield was a gunsmith.5 Also enumerated on the census was James J Rasbach (or Rosbach), age 8, born in New York, Eliza Rosbach age 13, born in England and Mary Rosbach age 11, born in New York The family next door is John A Rasbach, an attorney, with a wife & 5 children and 2 others.The father is listed as an attorney. The family is listed as 'Whitefield'.5
