     William Arthur Rogers was born on 8 September 1851, in Berkshire, Tioga County, NY.1 Father: Dr. Melanchthon Rogers - Mother: Mary Elizabeth Leonard.1 He graduated from Sheffield Scientific School, Yale University in New Haven, CT, in 1874 with a degree of Ph B.1 He was in the iron business in Cincinnati, Ohio.1 He married Eleanor Root Silliman, daughter of Benjamin Silliman and Susan Huldah Forbes, in 1884.1 William and Eleanor had three children.1 William Arthur Rogers died in 1946.1
