Landy Alford was born circa 1803.² He married Sarah Duke circa 1828, probably in Virginia.¹ 10 May 1846 the Alford family left Missouri on the Overland Trail, the day after daughter Nancy's marriage. Her husband Nathan Barbour & his brother Roswell Barbour also accompanied the family to California.² Landy Alford was a carpenter.³ He died on 4 October 1871 in Contra Costa County, CA.²
