John Woodward was born on 28 March 1649, in Watertown, MA. He married Rebecca Robbins, daughter of Richard Robbins and Mrs Rebecca (Unknown) Robbins, in 1673 in Cambridge, MA.1 John Woodward was a weaver. He lived on the south side of the river, near Newton Upper Falls. The house that he built was still standing in 1854, and at that time was occupied by descendants of the 5th and 6th generations.2 His wife Rebecca died on 8 January 1695/96 in Newton, MA, leaving him a widower.3,4 John Woodward died on 3 November 1732 in Newton, MA, at age 83. Inventory of his estate was taken. Inventory of his estate £133 9s 7d.
