     Laura Margaret Sanseverino was born on 24 February 1918, in Paterson, NJ. The highest level of schooling Laura had was Junior High School.3 She left school at 14 and went to work for Mr. Solomon, who owned a sewing business. She first sewed lingerie, then coats and suits. She worked 8 hours a day and made $10 a week. Then a law was passed for minimum wages, and Mr. Solomon couldn't afford it, so he closed his shop. (The minimum wage law would have required him to pay $15.50 per week.) She worked at a few other places. She went to Branford Academy at night in New York City to learn to be a beautician. It took 2 years. As a beautician she did nails and hair. She worked at a hotel, and gave Gene Krupa a manicure. She worked in the Bronx as a beautician. Finally she worked at the Youth Beauty Salon where she met her future husband George.3

Laura Margaret Sanseverino married George Alexander, son of Alexander Popoulos and Mrs Margaret Popoulos, on Monday, 8 April 1940 in City Hall, New York City, NY.3 Laura and George lived in New York City, NY, at 600 W 144th St.4 Laura Margaret Sanseverino was a sewing machine operator. She did piece work sewing at home.1 Laura and George moved to 395 Cliff St, Fairview, NJ, This house was owned by Laura's mother, who lived downstairs. They lived in the upstairs apartment for the rest of their lives, renting out the remaining units. It was sold in 2010, after Laura died.3 Laura Margaret Sanseverino died on 11 June 2009 in Fairview, NJ, at age 91.5 She was buried in Fairview, NJ.5
