Daniel Read

ID #837, (1754-1838)
     Daniel Read was born on 18 September 1754, in Swansea, MA.1 Daniel was in the Revolutionary War. He served under Benedict Arnold, enduring the hardships of the winter campaign against Quebec, and later fighting in the battle of Bennington.2 He married Susanna Richardson, daughter of Jonathan Richardson and Mary Woodward, say 1781 Lucy was the second child, born after Daniel had been off to the Revolutionary War for 10 years.3 Daniel Read died on 26 February 1838 at age 83.
