He was Lieutenant in command of a company raised in Norwich at the Lexington alarm. He was commissioned 6 Jul 1775, Captain of a company in Colonel Jedediah Huntington's Regiment.³
He died on 5 September 1775 in Pomfret, Connecticut, at age 46.^1,4
He was buried in Pomfret Burying Ground, Pomfret, Connecticut. Inscription: In memory of Lieut. Asa Kingsbury, who died at Pomfret in the 47th year of his age; who was on the march to Roxbury to join the American Army, and was brought here by his friends and interred with that respect due from the public to such characters.³
