An obituary was published

Joan M. Donovan, 92, of Wrentham, died peacefully in her home on May 8, 2013 in the company of her loving children. She was the beloved widow of Daniel F. Donovan who predeceased her on Feb. 12, 2004.

Born in Westwood, on June 1, 1920, she was a dear daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine (Burdett) Shepherd. She was a graduate of the Dedham High School. Joan had once owned her own beauty shop.

An avid gardener, she also enjoyed her role as a mom and as a homemaker. Her family and her grandchildren meant everything to her. She was a talented artist and musician who loved to play piano, knit, crochet, and to hook rugs. She was a progressive individual who always kept an open heart and an inclusive mind. Many of those who knew her would often seek her counsel and benefit from her wisdom.

On a personal journey dealing with Lewy Body Dementia, she had been hopeful of research that might relieve those who suffer with the disease.

She is survived by her loving children, Joan Silvi of Wrentham, Louise Grant of Norwood, Daniel Donovan of Port Orange, FL, John Donovan of Derry, NH, Timothy Donovan of Auburn, NH, and Michael Donovan of Manchester, NH.
She also was the dear sister of Sr. Anne Shepherd of Allegheny, NY, and the devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre, on Monday from 8:30-9:45 AM, with her Funeral Mass immediately following at 10 AM is St. Mary’s Church, 140 South Street, Route 1A, Wrentham Centre. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

ALLEGANY - Sr. Anne Shepherd, OSF, passed away Thursday (Oct. 22, 2020) at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse, from natural causes.
She was born Anne Noberta Shepherd, on June 6, 1925, in Dedham, Mass., a daughter of Thomas and Katherine Burdett Shepherd, of Dedham.
Sr. Anne entered the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany on Sept. 8, 1946; was received in the Congregation on Aug. 15, 1947; and professed her final vows on Aug. 16, 1954. Sister faithfully lived the Franciscan charism for 74 years.
Sister attended St. Mary's Elementary School, Ames Junior High School and graduated from Dedham High School in 1945. She attended St. Elizabeth Teacher College in Allegany, receiving a bachelor of science in elementary education from St. Bonaventure University.
Sister began her ministry in the field of education, in congregational schools in New York and Florida, in particular, the elementary grades. Locally, Sr Anne dedicated her skills to the libraries in St. Bonaventure School, Allegany and Archbishop Walsh High School, in Olean.
She continued her ministry in education until 1986, when health issues warranted her retirement. She was warmly welcomed home to St. Elizabeth Motherhouse, Allegany.
Sister was gifted as an accomplished pianist and creative artist. Her classrooms came alive as she shared these two gifts with the students and staff.
Sr. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Katherine Shepherd; nine sisters, Sr. Frances Marie Shepherd, OSF, an Allegany Franciscan, Katherine Alphin, Eloise Horn, Elizabeth Longden, Joan Donovan, Margaret Sampson, Jane McCann, Miriam Zinni and Sheila Claxton; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Burial will follow in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. All services will be private.

An obituary was published in The Enterprise, Brockton, Massachusetts, on 12 April 2010

Sheila F. (DeLapa) Stracqualursi, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at the Golden Living Center in Dedham, Saturday, April 10. Daughter of the late Angelo and Katherine DeLapa, she was born in Boston and raised in Dedham. She was a graduate of Dedham High School. She was a resident of Stoughton for 46 years.

Mrs. Stracqualursi was an employee of Stop & Shop in Stoughton for the past 15 years after working as a dental assistant at various dental offices in the area for several years. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton and was active with the Life Teen program at the church. In her free time, she enjoyed music, gardening and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Stracqualursi is survived by her children, Marie Russo of Middleboro, Michele Dias and Thomas Stracqualursi, both of Taunton, Paul Stracqualursi of Stoughton and Miriam Mitchell of Florida. She was the sister of Joan Shepherd Donovan of Wrentham and Sr. Anne Shepherd, OSF of St. Elizabeth Motherhouse, Allegany, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her son, William Stracqualursi and 10 sisters. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon.
