Kenneth Gene Kirkham
Kenneth Gene Kirkham, our loving father and grandfather, brother and friend, passed away December 14, 2008 at the Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem. He was born February 20, 1958 in Provo, Utah to Kenneth and Jeanette Abraham Kirkham.
Ken loved wildlife, which led to his learning taxidermy while in his early teens, and he continued on to have his own business which he named Ken's Rocky Mountain Taxidermy. He hunted deer, elk, pheasants, ducks, geese and just about anything he could kill. He was a wonderful artist, which was shown in his work. He also loved to fish, and was an avid outdoorsman, who was happiest just spending time in the mountains. He loved horses, and had a small farm at his home. He played minor league baseball for the cubs, and was an excellent pitcher. He was also a gifted Archer, and almost made it to the Olympic level. He loved music, and enjoyed going to concerts. He was a big fan of the movies as well, and had even started to watch soap operas with his daughter. He made an impression everywhere he went.
He loved attention, and had many friends, but his greatest joy was spending time with his children, his twin sons, Kenny and Kody, and his daughter, Shannon, whom he had just met 14 months ago. Ken's business was robbed, and the local news showed a story and interview with Ken. His daughter saw the story, and the two were finally able to meet after 28 years. From that time on, they spent as much time together as possible. Ken also loved meeting and spending time with his granddaughter, Chloe. He called her "bugsbunny", and they rode bikes togeth er and played pirates. He loved life, culture and people. He was also very loved in return, and will be missed beyond words.
He is survived by his three children.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
