Kandie Frank, 75, of Springville, UT, passed away on June 6, 2023 peacefully in her sleep, while the rolling clouds ushered her to heaven.
Kandie was born in Provo, UT on October 20, 1947 to Russell Dudley Hoggard and Norma Jarvis. She was the youngest of three, with two older brothers. She attended Provo High and during that time chose to attend Cosmetology School, graduating with high honors.
She married her high school sweetheart, Reed Frank Jr. (Little Reed) in 1964, they had two children; Kori (Michael) Richins and Natali Hood. They later divorced.
Kandie was a beautician for many years, working at her in-home salons while her children were young. She was later asked to teach Beauty School which she was happy to do for a couple of years. Kandie then opened her own Beauty Shop, The Ultimate Salon in Orem, while doing professional makeup for a local photographer on the side. Upon visiting a sick child in the hospital Kandie became intrigued with the medical profession and went to college to become a LPN. Nursing was her new passion, specializing in Mental Health. She worked in nursing for many years, before a horrible car accident, leaving her unable to work. Off to another adventure! At this time, she pursued an education in Environmental Technology. Unfortunately, she was never able to work in this field due to previous injuries.
She lived in many locations over the years, Mammoth Lakes, Venice Beach and San Leandro, CA. She also lived in Homer, AK with her best friend David Moon, where they shared their love of many animals. Homer was by far her favorite place to live. After Alaska she moved to Cedaredge, CO to be near her daughter, Natali and two of her grandchildren. After 6 years she moved back home to Utah. Kandie loved adventure; including hopping on the back of a Harley Davidson shortly after back surgery and heading to a Biker's Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota with her good friend Blu. Let's not forget that she also lived in a Van on the beach in Southern California for a couple of months. During these adventures she also loved writing poetry, providing comfort to many as well as having one published in a poetry book.
She loved her children and grandchildren, treasuring the time that she was able to spend with them. We can't forget to mention her many pets that she cherished as well. Little Star, Oreo, Jake, Dottie and Peaches, just to name a few.
Kandie was preceded in death by her daughter, Natali Hood, her brother, Russell Dee Hoggard, her parents, Russell Dudley Hoggard, Norma and Keith Jarvis. She is survived by her daughter; Kori (Michael) Richins, her grandchildren; Kasy Mitchell, Summer (Dalton) Hood, Dylan Hood and Malea (Dustin) Golling. her siblings, Norman Hoggard, Karen Jarvis, David Jarvis and Patti (Mike) Lallas.
