Dec. 19, 1934 - Dec. 11, 2017
Bonnie, 82, went to her heavenly home under the care of Arizona Best Hospice in Yuma, Arizona, surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born, the second of five siblings, on a cold December day to William Orden and Dora LaRue Winder in Idaho Falls, Idaho. On Feb. 18, 1955, she married the love of her life, Keith L. Howes. Together they raised five children: Sidney Rutkoski, of Bay City, Texas; Jodi (Ron) Coventry, of Shelbyville, Illinois; Steve Howes, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Peggy (Tony) Shiffer, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Forde Howes, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She is survived by her husband, Keith, and all her children, along with 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rita (Jack) Ruppe, of Vernal, Utah; brother, Orden Winder, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and brother, Dee (Nancy) Winder, of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents; an older sister, Lola Neff; grandson, Jeremy Shiffer; son-in-law, Mark Rutkoski; and her beloved sister-in-law, Sandra Winder. She was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sibling and friend.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed working at and learning new opportunities and skills. She was employed at many different jobs: grocery store clerk, waitress, motel manager, bank administrator, hospital health caregiver and school bus driver, to name only a few. However, the job she held closest to her heart which gave her the most gratification was being a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed camping, fishing, arts and crafts, shopping, going to the movies, lunches with her friends and family, playing board games and family gatherings. She was always up for an adventure. She was a hardworking, honest, loyal and giving soul. Those who knew and loved her would describe her as feisty, strong-willed, stubborn, determined, spunky, opinionated and most of all LOVED. She was, to coin a phrase, "dynamite in a small package."
She will be greatly missed, always in our hearts and loved.
No services are planned at this time, but a memorial and celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2018 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Exact time, date and place have yet to be determined.
